How To Apply for a marriage license in Ontario

Getting married in Ontario is fairly simple. You can go to any City Hall in Ontario and apply on the spot as long as you have the proper 2 pieces of identification each. You can also apply for a marriage license in Ontario online. Each city is slightly different but most will accept drivers license, birth certificate, passport, PR card, Canadian citizenship card, just to name a few. Both parties need to sign the application, and pay the fee, London City Hall charges $140.00 for a marriage license, no tax. Once you have the marriage license it is valid for 90 days from the date you pick it up. If you have been divorced you will need to take your original divorce certificate, no photocopies.
